2025 Training Schedule
Proper crime scene investigation, evidence collection, and documentation are key components to any criminal investigation. This course provides participants with information, techniques, and methods for conducting investigations ranging from general crime scene investigations to death investigations. Course instruction is through lecture and case review with emphasis on practical application.
This course meets Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements Intermediate Crime Scene Course #2106.

This course addresses the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to swiftly and effectively respond to and stop an active attack threat. This includes stopping the attacker(s), establishing initial command, rendering medical attention to casualties, establishing unified command, and
facilitating a prompt evacuation of casualties to a higher level of care. This is accomplished through the use of classroom instruction, hands-on performance-based training, and scenario based practical exercises.

The true fi rst responders in any emergency are the telecommunication professionals, whose primary objectives are to respond to calls appropriately, and ensure victim and offi cer safety. The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Investigator Course for Telecommunication Professionals (SAFVIC for TCPs) is designed to provide 911 call-takers across the state with the tools they need to effectively identify and facilitate sexual assault and family violence calls.
This Basic Instructor Certification course is designed to provide the basic concepts of instruction & to increase the quality of professional law enforcement training. This course introduces the student to the teaching-learning process, phases of the teaching-learning process, factors affecting learning, needs assessment, task analysis, developing learning objectives, preparing a lesson plan, & methods of instruction. The students will be taught how to develop & use instructional media to enhance their presentations. This can be an intense course for students.

The goal of this training is to assist school-based law enforcement officers and school districts with compliance of legislative mandates requiring districts employing a peace/resource officer to create a policy requiring officers to complete education and training. The majority of the class is spent outdoors in extreme cold or heat depending on the time of year. Students must score an 80% or higher on each of the driving courses and 70% or higher in the written test.

This course will acquaint the student with the history of FTO programs in the U.S. Students will be able to differentiate between training and evaluation, leadership styles, and counseling techniques. Students will learn how to complete a job task analysis as part of the learning process. Students will become familiar with different learning styles, barriers to communication, and how to conduct scenario based training. Students will discuss ethics and understand why standards are important. liability and training will be discussed. Students will also evaluate several ‘mock” evaluations using TRACWIRE.

Many modern law enforcement agencies are upgrading their weapons by issuing or authorizing the use of patrol rifles. This course teaches participants the principles of marksmanship, rifle nomenclature, and operation. Emphasis will be placed on weapons manipulation and how to fight with commonly configured patrol rifles. Although this course is based on the AR-15/M-4/M-16 weapons platform, other systems will be discussed.
