How to apply for a position

Employment applications for all positions within the district are required to be filled out and submitted online at https://jobs.conroeisd.net/jobs. Police Department postings can be found in the “Auxiliary” category.


The hiring process

Once a properly completed application has been submitted to the school district, the employment consideration begins. This process is the same for both full time and part-time positions.

For all positions, the first step in the process is the review of the submitted applications and selection of those candidates that will be invited to the selection process. Following is information for Police Officers, Prevention Control Monitors and Crossing Guards.

Police Officers:

  1. Complete online application on the CISD website.
  2. Call the Chief’s Secretary Joni Hamilton at 936-709-8900.
  3. Attend employment orientation.
  4. You will be asked to complete a thorough Background Questionnaire. An investigator will be assigned to your background and an extensive background investigation will begin.
  5. Physical Agility Test.
  6. An employment interview is scheduled.
  7. If recommended as eligible for hire by the staff interview committee, you will meet with the Chief of Police for a possible offer of employment.
  8. If offered employment, you will be required to successfully complete a physical examination, a psychological evaluation, a drug screening test, and firearms qualification, to confirm employment.
  9. Training begins immediately upon employment with over 120 hours of classroom training.
  10. Officers must successfully complete 8 weeks of evaluated field training.

Police Telecommunicators, Prevention Control Monitors, and Crossing Guards:

  1. Complete online application on the CISD website.
  2. Successful applicants are scheduled for an interview with the initial interview committee.
  3. If you are selected to continue from the initial interview, you will be asked to complete a Background Questionnaire. An investigator will be assigned to your background and a background investigation will start.
  4. Upon successful completion of the background investigation, you will meet with the Chief of Police for a possible offer of employment.
  5. If offered employment, you will be required to successfully complete a physical examination and a drug screening test.
