How to apply for a position

Employment applications for all positions within the district are required to be filled out and submitted online at https://jobs.conroeisd.net/winocular/workspace. Police Department postings can be found in the “Auxiliary” category at https://jobs.conroeisd.net/jobs.

Hiring Process

Once a properly completed application has been submitted to the school district, the employment consideration begins. This process is the same for both full time and part-time positions.

For all positions, the first step in the process is the review of the submitted applications and selection of those candidates that will be invited to the selection process. Following is information for Police Officers, Telecommunicators, Prevention Control Monitors and Crossing Guards.

Email the Chief’s secretary with an attached resume at bsbelmares@conroeisd.net.
You will be issued a Conroe ISD Police Department Personal History Packet to complete. Once completed and returned, an investigator will complete an extensive background investigation.
Successfully complete Polygraph Exam.
Employment Interview.
If recommended as eligible for hire by staff interview committee, you will be contacted by the Chief of Police regarding a contingent offer of employment.
If offered employment, you will be required to successfully complete a physical examination and drug screening (L-2), a psychological evaluation (L-3), and firearms qualification, to confirm employment.
Training begins immediately upon employment with classroom training prior to field training.
Officers must successfully complete 10 weeks of evaluated field training to ensure continued employment.

Successfully complete Validated Entry Level Dispatch Exam.
You will be issued a Conroe ISD Police Department Personal History Packet to complete. Once completed and returned, an investigator will complete an extensive background investigation.
Employment Interview.
If recommended as eligible for hire by staff interview committee, you will be contacted by the Chief of Police regarding a contingent offer of employment.
If offered employment, you will be required to successfully complete a drug screening (L-2), a psychological evaluation (L-3), to confirm employment.
Telecommunicators must successfully complete 6 weeks of evaluated field training to ensure continued employment as well as successfully pass the TCOLE Telecommunicator licensing exam within one year of employment.

Successful applicants are scheduled for an interview with the initial interview committee.
If you are selected to continue from the initial interview, you will be asked to complete a Background Questionnaire. An investigator will be assigned to your background and a background investigation will start.
Upon successful completion of the background investigation, you will meet with the Chief of Police for a possible offer of employment.
If offered employment, you will be required to successfully complete a drug screening.

Applicants must have obtained a high school diploma or GED; currently meet all requirements to be certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) as a peace officer for the State of Texas upon employment; and driving record must be acceptable according to standards developed jointly by the Department of Public Safety and the Texas Education Agency.

Applicants must have obtained a high school diploma or GED. Your driving record must be acceptable to the standards developed jointly by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Education Agency. Telecommunicators must possess a current TCOLE Basic Telecommunicator Certification and TLETS/NLETS Certification, or must complete the necessary training to obtain certification within one year of employment.

Bilingual Pay

Applicants must have obtained a high school diploma or GED. Duties include monitoring activities in parking lots, outside buildings and athletic fields at our high school facilities. Your driving record must be acceptable to the standards developed jointly by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Education Agency. It is preferred that you hold a security officer commission issued by the Texas Board of Private Investigators and Security Agencies.
