With the purchase of six walk-through metal detectors, the District implemented random metal (weapon) searches at the junior and senior high schools. Random selection of busses, classes, and students determines who is subject to the detection process. School officials and district police officers work together to deter possession of weapons on our campuses during the school day and during special events.

Specially trained district police officers assist school officials and district police officers assigned to our junior and senior high school campuses in investigating gang related incidents and in gathering intelligence shared throughout the district and with other law enforcement agencies. Specially trained district police officers present gang-awareness seminars to students, parents and district personnel.
Through the CISD Gang Intervention Unit, the district police department shares gang, narcotics, and additional criminal information with other law enforcement agencies throughout Montgomery County. The CISD Gang Intervention Unit assists Montgomery County law enforcement agencies in conducting gang, narcotics, and special investigations involving CISD students, personnel, and property.
