POSITION:  Prevention Control Monitor (Parking Lot Security-Non Peace Officer)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education/Certification:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Successful completion of drug and alcohol screening
JOB DESCRIPTION:  

To provide the security of district properties and a safe environment for students, personnel and visitors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  1. Greet all visitors, students, and faculty; check for proper identification or authorized clearance.
  2. Assist and direct visitors to Administration Office.
  3. Monitor activities in parking lots, outside buildings, and athletic fields.
  4. Immediately report suspicious activities to campus officers and school officials.
  5. Maintain radio contact with school officials and campus officers.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
  7. Ability to control sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.
  8. Request immediate assistance when criminal activity or the potential of criminal activity is observed.
  9. Regular attendance.
  10. Maintain confidentiality.
  11. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief of Police.

  • Walking (move about on foot)
  • Carrying (transporting an object by hand)
  • Crouching (bending the body downward and forward by bending the knees and spine)
  • Climbing (ascending and descending stairs)
  • Lifting (able to lift 50-60 lbs.)
  • Kneeling (bending legs at the knees to come to rest on the knees)
  • Pulling (able to exert force upon an object so the object moves toward the force) [including jerking]
  • Pushing (exerting force upon an object so the object moves away from the force)
  • Bending (ability to move at the waist downward and upward with reasonable mobility)

 

An employee may be required to perform any or all of the above physical requirements.  These physical requirements may constitute 95% of the employee’s daily functions.
